The Need of Mine Mountain

In India, the governance of minerals is shared between the Central and State Governments. While the Central Government is responsible for formulating policies and rules related to major minerals, the regulation of minor minerals falls under the jurisdiction of individual state governments. As a result, each state develops its own set of rules, policies, notifications, and government orders concerning minor minerals.

This decentralized approach leads to significant difference in rules across states, contributing to a lack of uniformity and making the minor mineral sector unorganized in the country.
